Talk Therapy
Sometimes we just need a space to process life’s complexities with a professional who gets it. My approach to talk therapy person-centered is deeply relational, meaning I prioritize our connection as the primary vehicle for your growth. I also utilize a systemic lens, looking at how your environment, family history, and community impact your well-being. By focusing on how you relate to yourself and others, we work together to navigate the challenges that keep you feeling stuck, ensuring you feel seen and empowered in every session.
Trauma Recovery & Somatic Healing
Traditional talk therapy often stays in the logical brain, but trauma lives in the body. When we only talk about our experiences, we may understand why we feel a certain way without actually feeling better. I use “bottom-up” modalities to help you process painful memories and find genuine safety in the present by connecting to your body’s internal wisdom.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): A powerful, evidence-based tool that uses bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping) to help unstick traumatic memories. This process allows your brain to resume its natural healing process, so past events no longer carry the same emotional charge.
Brainspotting: Based on the idea that where you look affects how you feel, Brainspotting helps us locate points in your visual field that correlate with internal trauma or emotional distress. It allows for deep processing that often bypasses the filters of the conscious mind.
Somatic Approaches: By focusing on the mind-body connection, we learn to listen to your nervous system. We work together to identify where you hold tension and use gentle techniques to help your body discharge stored stress and find a sense of calm.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Assessments
Living in a world designed for neurotypical brains can be exhausting. Whether you are seeking workplace accommodations or simply looking for the “missing piece” of your self-identity, I provide a validating, non-pathologizing environment to explore your neurotype.
Formal Assessments: A structured clinical evaluation for Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or ADHD. These result in a formal, comprehensive report that can be used for medical records, school accommodations (IEPs/504 plans), or workplace support. Completed in 3 sessions.
Informal Assessments: These provide the same clinical insights and depth of information as a formal assessment, but without the formal report provided. This is an ideal choice for individuals seeking personal clarity, validation, and lifestyle adjustments without the need for a diagnostic document for outside institutions. Completed in 2 sessions.
Gender-Affirming Care
Trans, non-binary, and gender expansive individuals deserve healthcare that is respectful, celebratory, and accessible. I operate from a low-barrier model that prioritizes your autonomy and works to dismantle the gatekeeping often found in the medical system. All letters follow the latest WPATH standards of care.
HRT & Surgery Letters: I provide clinical letters of support for individuals seeking Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) or gender-affirming surgeries (such as top or bottom surgery). These are available for established clients and for one-time clients following a thorough assessment. I only offer letters for individuals who are 18+.
